The objective of reconstructive cosmetic surgery is to restore each type and function. In 1814, Joseph Carpue efficiently carried out an operative process on a British military officer who had lost his nose to the toxic effects of mercury therapies. In 1818, German surgeon Carl Ferdinand von Graefe printed his main work entitled Rhinoplastik. Von Graefe modified the Italian technique utilizing a free pores and skin graft from the arm as an alternative of the original delayed pedicle flap.
